The Energy and Environment Technical Officer, Germ\u00e1n L\u00f3pez<\/a>, and the Business Development Consultant Mar\u00eda Nieto<\/a> have participated in a follow-up meeting of the European EERES4WATER project<\/a>, organised by the University of Cardiff in Wales. CTA is the coordinator of this European project that began in April 2019<\/a> with the aim of optimizing the energy management of the integral water cycle.<\/p>\n

T<\/span>he project progress <\/span>and management <\/span>during the first 6 months <\/span>and plans f<\/span>or the next period <\/span>w<\/span>ere<\/span> discussed in the meeting<\/span>. <\/span>The activities carried out during the first semester were analysed being highlighted that foreseen deliverables were adequately <\/span>completed<\/span> and that <\/span>o<\/span>n-going<\/span> work pack<\/span>ages have made a good progress<\/span> to<\/span> date. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

In particular, <\/span>the <\/span>EERES4WATER<\/span> consortium<\/span> has started the activity aimed at developing recommendations to improve public policies <\/span>related to<\/span> <\/span>E<\/span>nergy-<\/span>W<\/span>ater <\/span>N<\/span>exus<\/span> <\/span>and <\/span>also<\/span> to<\/span> work collaboratively in some of the <\/span>foreseen <\/span>technical developments. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, representatives of <\/span>Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA)<\/span> <\/span>and Cardiff University met with a Welsh Government\u2019s open innovation team member to <\/span>know the Open Innovation ecosystem in Wales. This type of action<\/span>, which is foreseen to be carried out<\/span> also<\/span> in some regions of Ireland, Portugal, France and Spain, <\/span>is expected to contribute to <\/span>detect available mechanisms and implement <\/span>appropriate tools to improve the collaboration <\/span>in technology transfer issues <\/span>among the stakeholders <\/span>(Universities, private companies, Research <\/span>Centers<\/span>, technology providers, Governmental bodies, etc.) <\/span>of th<\/span>e Innovation<\/span> ecosystem<\/span>s of the involved regions.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

EEERES4WATER is co-financed by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme through the European Regional Development Fund<\/span> and led by <\/span>CTA.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The project<\/span> <\/span>will enhance the institutional, technical and social framework to promote the direct use of <\/span>R<\/span>enewable <\/span>E<\/span>nergy <\/span>S<\/span>ources<\/span> (RES)<\/span> and energy efficiency in the water cycle by influencing related policies and introduction of new processes and technologies.<\/span> <\/span>These improvements will bring the Atlantic Area to the forefront of strategies, policies and utilization of RES and energy efficiency as well as sustainability. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>project <\/span>consortium <\/span>includes<\/span> <\/span>11 organisations<\/span> from <\/span>5<\/span> <\/span>European countries<\/span>. The Spanish partners are: <\/span>CTA<\/span>, <\/span>University of Seville<\/span>, <\/span>CIEMAT-PSA<\/span>, <\/span>Canary Islands Institute of Technology <\/span>(ITC)<\/span> and <\/span>Brinergy<\/span> Tech<\/span>. Ireland participates with <\/span>2<\/span> members: <\/span>University College Cork (UCC)<\/span> – MaREI<\/span> and <\/span>Resolute Marine (RML).<\/span> <\/span>From Portugal<\/span>, <\/span>ENERAREA<\/span> <\/span>and the <\/span>University of \u00c9vora<\/span> \u2013 Chair in Renewable Energy (UEVORA)<\/span> participate. The partner <\/span>from<\/span> <\/span>the <\/span>UK<\/span> is <\/span>Cardiff University<\/span>. The French partner<\/span> is<\/span> <\/span>Campus E.S.P.R.I.T.
