{"id":47973,"date":"2022-01-20T08:50:49","date_gmt":"2023-03-22T05:39:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev-cta.corporaciontecnologica.com\/?post_type=noticias&#038;p=47973"},"modified":"2023-09-29T14:16:56","modified_gmt":"2023-09-29T12:16:56","slug":"__trashed-1516","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/www.corporaciontecnologica.com\/en\/noticias\/__trashed-1516\/","title":{"rendered":"CTA leads the compilation of a bio-based technologies catalog as part of the European project BIO4Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CTA has led the development of an online catalog that includes more than <strong>70 bio-based technologies<\/strong> adapted to the needs of <strong>rural Africa<\/strong>, to support the adoption of new production methods for the deployment of a circular bioeconomy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This activity is part of the <a href=\"\/sites\/cta\/en\/area-internacional\/proyectos-europeos\/bio4africa\/\">BIO4Africa<\/a> project, co-funded by the European Union&#8217;s Horizon 2020 programme to promote<strong> technological solutions and value chains<\/strong> in the bioeconomy sector in Africa.<\/p>\n<div>The aim of the catalog is to provide a resource for farmers and cooperatives interested in incorporating off-the-shelf solutions, as well as for technology developers seeking new R&amp;D opportunities or synergies, and those responsible for formulating public policies that encourage its adoption.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The technologies have been assessed according to a number of key criteria, including the cost of investment and operation, the technical skills required of local farming communities, and their suitability for small-scale applications. Other important considerations were the availability and transportability of the raw material and the market potential of the final product.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>All the technologies have been identified through a survey that will remain open during the execution of the BIO4Africa project.
