The European ROBIN project, financed by the Horizon Europe programme, has just started with a kick-off meeting held in Thessaloniki (Greece) with the aim of promoting innovative governance models in Circular Bioeconomy to help regional Administrations accelerate the green transition.<\/p>\n

The regional Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda, the IFAPA (Andalusian Institute for Agricultural, Fisheries, Food and Ecological Production Research and Training) and CTA (Technological Corporation of Andalusia) are the Spanish partners of the Project. Andalusia is a pioneer region in this field in Europe, with an exclusive circular bioeconomy strategy since 2018, and will be one of the 5 EU pilot regions to promote these new innovative governance models that help promote the Circular Bioeconomy.<\/p>\n

On the 26<\/span>th<\/span> and 27<\/span>th<\/span> of September 2022, the ROBIN partners met in Thessaloniki in Greece to officially kick start the project and discuss the next steps for its successful deployment! With Q-PLAN coordinating this Horizon Europe project, ROBIN \u2013 \u201c<\/span>Deploying circular BIOeconomies at the Regional level with a territorial approach\u201d <\/span>has set the stage to empower and fulfill the role of European regional authorities to use social innovative techniques and shape their governance structures within the frame of Circular Bioeconomy.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bioeconomy has the potential to substantially contribute to the objectives of the European Green Deal while at the same time Europe\u2019s regional authorities have a crucial role to play as agents of inclusive and resilient economic development for their territories. <\/span><\/p>\n

ROBIN project aim to clarify how Europe\u2019s regional authorities can explore their potential for bioeconomy governance schemes so they could contribute to the mission of the European Union for a faster green transition.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

ROBIN project<\/h3>\n

13 partners from 5 European countries will set up Multi-Actor Regional Constellations in 5 pilot regions: the region of Central Macedonia in Greece, the region of Zilina in Slovakia, the Southern Region of Ireland, the region of Andalusia in Spain, and Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg in Germany. In these regions, they will co-create novel governance structures and deploy circular bioeconomy strategies. ROBIN will provide a practical toolbox to the regions so as to improve the operation and monitoring of their future bioeconomy models. Also, it will provide them with tailored support for enhanced stakeholder engagement in collaboration with the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI-CSO)<\/p>\n
