CTA (Technological Corporation of Andalusia) is participates in the SOLLAGUA project<\/a>, an innovative initiative funded by the Interreg SUDOE Programme that aims to promote nature-based solutions (NBS) for water reuse in rural areas with limited access periods and low natural flows, as is the case in some parts of Andalusia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SOLLAGUA project<\/a>, which will last three years, is driven by a consortium of ten entities from Spain, France and Portugal. All of them will cooperate to provide a more resilient water supply in areas with high water stress and, in turn, favor the development of a circular economy based on the reuse of local wastewater, while providing an alternative to classic end-of-pipe facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SOLLAGUA’s action plan envisages, among others, the installation of three demonstrators in selected areas of the participating countries to highlight the advantages of the NBS system. In addition, the target metering system will make it possible to determine the appropriate level of water treatment based on actual needs<\/strong>. The initiative will actively involve administrations, universities, companies and users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CTA’s role<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Carlos Garc\u00eda, CTA’s sectoral technical manager for Building and Civil Works, and Mar\u00eda Garc\u00eda and Rafael Castillo, CTA’s Innovation consultants, attended to the kick-off meeting held in Toulouse. The role of the foundation in the SOLLAGUA project is to lead the Communication and Dissemination strategy of the initiative and to identify the actors likely to replicate its results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
