On May 27 and 28, Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA)<\/a> took part in the second meeting of the focus group “Protein Crop Production in the Context of Climate Change,” organized by the EU CAP Network<\/a> in Seville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This European initiative aims to improve communication and the exchange of information on agriculture <\/strong>and rural policies<\/strong> across the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knowledge exchange in a European space<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

During the first day, several mini-papers prepared by group experts were presented, addressing topics such as varietal improvement, the strengthening of regional value chains, and agronomic field processes<\/strong>. This was followed by a technical visit to the Agroquivir cooperative<\/a><\/strong>, including both its alfalfa dehydration plant and its cultivation fields. There, the effects of climate change on the viability of alfalfa cultivation were discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boosting sustainable agriculture<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The second day focused on collaborative working sessions in which barriers were identified at both the research and agricultural practice levels. These findings were translated into concrete proposals for future EIP-AGRI Operational Groups<\/a> and other innovation projects. In addition, participants continued working on drafting mini-papers that will outline the main needs of the agri-food sector in relation to protein crops<\/strong>. These documents will translate those needs into priority topics for various European innovation support programs and will be published in the autumn by the European Innovation Partnership (EIP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
