On 12 and 13 May, the consortium of the European BATMASS project met in Ljubljana (Slovenia) for its seventh in-person meeting, a key event to review the project\u2019s technical progress, strengthen coordination between partners and plan the activities scheduled for the final year of implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting, organised in collaboration with CTA and hosted by partner NIC, combined technical and strategic sessions with a visit to the facilities of the Centre for the Development, Demonstration and Training in Carbon-Free Technologies, located in Kisovec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the first day, the partners presented progress on the project\u2019s various industrial pilot schemes, focusing on processes such as battery collection and dismantling, second-life applications, black mass treatment and the production of active cathode materials (CAM). The sessions provided an opportunity to analyse the state of development of the pilot schemes, their industrial scaling and the next technical steps planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second day was devoted to cross-cutting aspects of the project, including the development of the future European Circular Battery Valley, market conditions for the adoption of circular solutions, the replication of investments across European regions, project management, and communication and dissemination activities. CTA played an active role in coordinating and promoting the meeting, as well as in monitoring the project\u2019s communication activities at European level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representing CTA were Juanita Zenteno, Innovation Consultant, and Marta Gonz\u00e1lez, Communications Officer, who took part in the working sessions and the consortium\u2019s coordination activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This latest in-person meeting has helped to strengthen collaboration between the BATMASS partners and to continue making progress towards the shared goal of building a more circular, sustainable and resilient European battery value
