The Do\u00f1ana Terra Innova project, led by CTA and funded by CDTI<\/a>, has held a workshop at the Center for Research in Technology, Energy and Sustainability (CITES) of the University of Huelva (UHU<\/a>) to gather innovative proposals from organizations operating in the natural park\u2019s surrounding area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mayor of Moguer, Gustavo Cu\u00e9llar, opened the event together with Mar\u00eda Reyes S\u00e1nchez, Vice-Rector for Knowledge Transfer and Regional Development at the University of Huelva (UHU); Jos\u00e9 Manuel And\u00fajar, Director of CITES; Luis Berm\u00fadez, Manager of Onucoop<\/a>; and Daniel Caldentey, Secretary General of the Federation of Employers of Huelva (FOE<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emilio Esteban, Head of the Do\u00f1ana Technical Office at Spain\u2019s Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITERD), outlined the framework of actions for sustainable development in the Do\u00f1ana Natural Area and Biosphere Reserve. Meanwhile, Carlos Garc\u00eda, CTA\u2019s Head of Public Sector, provided a more detailed overview of the Do\u00f1ana Terra Innova project and the support measures planned for innovative projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event brought together nearly 30 participants and included dozens of one-to-one meetings with advisors from the Do\u00f1ana Terra Innova project, aimed at helping local organizations define and refine their ideas, advance their development, and access funding opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Do\u00f1ana Terra Innova project, funded by CDTI and supported by Spain\u2019s Ministries for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and for Science, Innovation and Universities<\/a>, aims to promote innovative technology projects throughout 2026 and 2027 that contribute to sustainable development across the 14 municipalities surrounding the Do\u00f1ana Natural Area and Biosphere Reserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do\u00f1ana Terra Innova aims to establish itself as a key instrument for transforming the area surrounding the natural park into a benchmark for sustainable socio-economic development and innovation, while protecting and harnessing its natural and territorial resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative is led by CTA and brings together Asaja-Huelva<\/a>, the Federation of Entrepreneurs of Huelva (FOE), the University of Huelva, and the cooperatives Onucoop and Seprocoop <\/a>as project partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A key instrument for making Do\u00f1ana a benchmark in sustainable innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Do\u00f1ana Terra Innova project, funded by the Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation (CDTI) and supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, will implement initiatives to foster sustainable innovation across the municipalities within the area of influence of the Do\u00f1ana Natural Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve. The project is part of CDTI\u2019s specific Do\u00f1ana Innovation Promotion<\/em> call, under the Industry Line of the Action Framework for Do\u00f1ana led by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do\u00f1ana Terra Innova has established the following email address as the sole and common entry point for the submission of ideas and proposals for future R&D&I projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the two-year duration of the project, Do\u00f1ana Terra Innova will focus on identifying, assessing and shaping innovative initiatives, as well as designing business plans, entrepreneurial projects and Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) actions. Particular attention will be given to strategic areas for the region, including water management, sustainable agriculture and the improvement of working conditions in the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
