Imperial College London (UK) hosted the 14th European Conference on Renewable Energy Systems (ECRES 2026<\/a>)<\/strong> from 7 to 9 July. The AGERAR PLUS<\/a><\/strong> project was represented at the event through three scientific papers <\/strong>presented by researchers Rosa Mar\u00eda Rengel and Diego Tejada <\/strong>from the National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AGERAR PLUS, which held its final event<\/a> on 1 July, played a prominent role at the conference by showcasing two research studies focused on the virtual interconnection of prosumers <\/strong>through remote laboratories and on the development of advanced techniques<\/strong> for fault detection in real microgrids. The project also highlighted progress in smart energy storage management, the virtual interconnection of laboratories, and the early detection of faults in microgrids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the papers showcased within the project, entitled \u201cExperimental Validation of a Distributed Multi-Agent Architecture for Optimal Energy Storage Management in Renewable Energy Prosumers\u201d<\/em>, developed jointly by the Galician Institute of Technology (ITG)<\/a>, the University of the Algarve<\/a> and the University of Seville<\/a>, received the ECRES Best Paper Award 2026<\/strong> in recognition of its scientific quality, originality and contribution to the field of renewable energy systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This recognition reinforces the international impact of AGERAR PLUS’s<\/strong> results and highlights the collaboration among its partners<\/strong> in advancing more flexible, efficient and resilient distributed energy systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CTA’s Role<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Within the AGERAR PLUS project, CTA<\/a> has led the Visibility, Transparency and Communication activities.<\/strong> To this end, CTA developed a communication strategy aimed at maximising the dissemination of the project’s activities, knowledge and results<\/strong> among all quadruple-helix stakeholders involved in the renewable energy sector.
