The Science and Technology Park Cartuja (PCT Cartuja), located in Seville, continues to advance its transformation towards a smarter and more sustainable urban model, driven by the ambitious Innovation Public Procurement (CPI) project, eCitySevilla. This initiative is financed by the Regional Ministry of University, Research, and Innovation of the Andalusian Government and boasts a budget of approximately 19.8 million euros (including VAT), supported by the Feder Programme for Andalusia 2021–2027. Framed within a global strategy, the project seeks to enhance urban modernisation through technology and innovation.
In this context, the Joint Venture (UTE) formed by Cremades y Calvo Sotelo, IDOM, and CTA (Technological Corporation of Andalusia) plays a pivotal role in the execution of two of the twelve lines comprising this initiative:
• Line 6: Access Control Service for Vehicles and People at Cartuja and PCT Cartuja.
• Line 10: Digital Infrastructure of PCT Cartuja.
These strategic lines are designed to optimise access management and drive the digitalisation of the PCT Cartuja ecosystem, enabling greater control and security in the mobility of vehicles and individuals, as well as a more advanced and interconnected technological infrastructure.
Strategic Lines for Enhanced Mobility and Connectivity
Line 6, focused on the access control of vehicles and individuals, seeks to improve efficiency and security in the flow of entry and exit to the facilities. Advanced technologies, including intelligent identification systems, traffic sensors, and digital management platforms, will be implemented to enable faster and safer access, optimising resources and minimising environmental impact.
Conversely, Line 10 is dedicated to the Digital Infrastructure of PCT Cartuja, a cornerstone project aimed at integrating smart networks and digital platforms to seamlessly connect the various spaces within the park. This digitalisation effort not only enhances the management of urban resources but also facilitates real-time monitoring of both public and private services, thereby fostering a more sustainable and efficient environment.
Innovation and Collaboration Shaping the Urban Future
The Innovation Public Procurement project aspires to revolutionise mobility within PCT Cartuja by promoting the adoption of cutting-edge technologies that enhance energy efficiency and facilitate smarter urban resource management.
CTA’s involvement as part of the UTE in this project underscores its commitment to advancing innovative solutions that contribute to the transformation of urban environments into more sustainable and interconnected spaces. This collaboration establishes the foundation for a more resilient and technologically advanced Cartuja, well-prepared to face the challenges of the future.
Through these two lines of action, the UTE—comprising Cremades y Calvo Sotelo, IDOM, and CTA—actively contributes to positioning PCT Cartuja as a benchmark for smart mobility and digital transformation, aligning with the innovation and sustainability objectives set forth by the Andalusian Government.
As part of the ongoing development of this initiative, Preliminary Market Consultations will soon be launched. This key process is intended to gather information and innovative proposals from the sector, in alignment with the project’s strategic goals. All related information will be made available on the official PCT Cartuja website.
