The 1st BioINSouth Forum will take place on 5–6 June 2025 at the University of Catania (Italy), as an official EU Green Week Partner Event. Organised under the EU-funded BioINSouth project and supported by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), the forum will bring together key stakeholders to accelerate regional collaboration and shape a sustainable bioeconomy in Southern Europe.

CTA will take part in the Forum both as a key partner in the BioINSouth project and through the active participation of its team. María García, Innovation Consultant at CTA and project manager of the BioINSouth project, will moderate the roundtable "The role of regions in implementing circular bioeconomy in Southern Europe", while Rafael Castillo, also Innovation Consultant at CTA, will join the roundtable "The circular bioeconomy builds bridges: the BioINSouth Initiative" as a representative of the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI).

This two-day event will offer a unique space for dialogue among experts from academia, industry, public authorities, and civil society to co-create a shared vision for circular, regional bioeconomy strategies that respond to environmental, social, and economic challenges.

Two days, many voices

The agenda is built around diverse and dynamic sessions:
• High-level keynote speeches offering global and European insights into bioeconomy development.
• Thematic roundtables exploring regional bioeconomy priorities and innovation needs.
• Interactive discussions on the role of Southern regions in scaling up sustainable and inclusive practices.

Why participate?

  1. Gain insights into the state of the bioeconomy in Southern Europe and beyond.

  2. Discover regional innovation strategies and successful case studies.

  3. Engage with experts and peers to co-define research and innovation priorities.

  4. Explore synergies across sectors and territories to boost circular bio-based economies.

  5. Be part of shaping a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable European future.

The BioINSouth Forum is a milestone event to foster long-term cooperation and position Southern regions at the forefront of the circular bioeconomy transition.
