Leonardo Bueno, CTA’s Chief Financial Officer and Deputy General Director, and David Páez, Director of Consulting and International Projects, carried out a mission to Brussels and Madrid to strengthen CTA’s positioning in international innovation projects, both funded by the European Union and by multilateral market entities.

The main objective of the mission was to analyze opportunities to increase the participation of CTA member companies in European innovation programs and external collaboration, as well as in the multilateral market.

In Brussels, CTA executives visited the European Parliament and met with officials responsible for external relations at this institution and with Andalusian Members of the European Parliament, as well as with representatives of the European Commission, specifically from DG International Partnerships. They also held a meeting with the heads of the SOST office of CDTI in Brussels and with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Luxembourg, as well as with Greenovate Europe, a network of organisations linked to sustainable innovation to which CTA belongs.

In Madrid, Bueno and Páez focused their meetings on entities within the Multilateral Market, an area where CTA will strengthen its participation as part of its new 2026–29 strategic plan. Specifically, they met with the European representatives of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE), the Spanish Exporters and Investors Club, and anchor consultancies in the multilateral market. They also attended an event organized by the Euroamérica Foundation at Casa América, where the results of the recent EU-CELAC meeting in Colombia a few weeks ago were analyzed.
