CTA opens an office in Brussels to strengthen its activity in European projects and the multilateral market
  • CTA has already participated in 68 projects funded by the European Commission, through which it has secured €18.7 million, of which €8.2 million corresponds to funds to be awarded to third parties through cascade funding.
  • The office is located very close to the buildings of the main European Union institutions.
  • The President of CTA, Beltrán Pérez, highlights that “one of the main objectives of CTA’s new strategic plan is to boost the international growth of innovative Andalusian companies, both through EU-funded projects and in the multilateral market.”

CTA (Technological Corporation of Andalusia) inaugurated an office in Brussels (Belgium) in February 2026 to strengthen its international activity, especially its participation in projects funded by the European Commission (EC), to represent in Europe the interests of the innovative companies that are members of the foundation, and to support them in taking part in this type of project.

The President of CTA, Beltrán Pérez, stresses that “CTA is already a reference partner in European projects and we have extensive experience in international cooperative projects, but a clear objective of the new strategic plan is to help innovative Andalusian companies grow much more, both in initiatives funded by the European Commission and in the multilateral market.

CTA’s office is located in Etterbeek, an office district adjacent to the so-called European Quarter of Brussels, where the main buildings of the European Union institutions are located (European Commission, European Council, European Parliament, etc.). The office will enable daily representation in Brussels-based activities, as well as the organisation of institutional meetings and activities with European companies and partners.

CTA has already participated in 68 projects funded by the European Commission, through which it has secured €18.7 million, of which €8.2 million corresponds to funds to be awarded to third parties through cascade funding, or Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP).

More than 500 contacts in 45 countries

The Director of CTA’s International Area, David Páez, points out that “CTA has consolidated its position as a strategic player in the preparation and drafting of proposals for European innovation projects, actively contributing to the attraction of funding and to the promotion of innovative solutions in key areas for competitiveness and sustainability.”

In 2025 alone, CTA took part in the preparation and submission of more than 60 European project proposals, funded through different EU programmes. These initiatives represent a total budget of more than €270 million in innovative solutions, of which €32 million corresponds to CTA itself.

CTA’s multisectoral approach is one of its main differentiating strengths, as it enables the organisation to contribute to the design of projects across a wide range of research and innovation areas. These notably include the bioeconomy, the promotion of entrepreneurship, the management of cascade funding instruments, as well as initiatives focused on sustainable development and on the identification and valorisation of critical raw materials.

CTA implements initiatives funded through a wide range of European programmes, such as Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, Interreg SUDOE, Interreg Euro-MED, the I3 Instrument, Interreg POCTEP, Interreg Atlantic Area and Digital Europe, among others. This experience enables CTA to provide consortia with a high capacity to adapt to different approaches, requirements and methodologies.

In addition, CTA’s international network of alliances (more than 600 partners in 45 countries) and its active participation in European clusters and associations provide key strategic value in transnational projects, as they facilitate the identification of suitable partners, make it possible to anticipate the priorities of the European Commission, and help strengthen working groups, thereby increasing the chances of success of each proposal submitted.
