
CTA (Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía) hosted at its headquarters a meeting between the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) and representatives of the Andalusian innovation ecosystem to explore opportunities for cooperation in boosting research, development and innovation (R&D&I).
The Director of the JRC site in Seville, Mikel Landabaso, and the JRC Innovation Policy and Economic Impact Officer, Carlos Torrecilla, were welcomed by CTA’s Chairman and General Manager, Beltrán Pérez and Leonardo Bueno, respectively.

The meeting was attended by the Rector of the University of Seville, Carmen Vargas; the Secretary General for External Action of the Andalusian Regional Government, Enric Milló; the Director of the science and technology park Seville TechPark, Luis Pérez; the CSIC Delegate in Andalusia, Margarita Paneque; as well as representatives from the Seville City Council and leading innovative companies with a significant role in the Andalusian innovation ecosystem. Companies represented included Guadaltel, Iberdrola and MP Asesores.
During the meeting, the Director of the JRC in Seville presented an analysis of the regional innovation strategy from a European perspective and engaged in a discussion with attendees on future cooperation opportunities.

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission’s science and knowledge service. It provides independent scientific evidence and data to support European Union policymaking. The JRC operates across six sites in five European countries, with one of its headquarters located in Seville, employing around 400 staff members.
