CTA (Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía) participated in ECOSYSTEX 2026, held from 22 to 24 September in Antwerp, Belgium, one of Europe’s leading forums dedicated to innovation, sustainability and circularity in the textile industry. The event brought together companies, technology centres, universities, industry associations and other key stakeholders from across Europe to address the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the sector.
Organised in collaboration with the University of Antwerp, the conference has become a flagship platform for fostering cooperation between research, industry and innovation around circular textiles. Its approach goes beyond recycling, promoting the comprehensive transformation of textile value chains.

During the event, the CTA team had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the latest European trends, projects and initiatives related to the circular economy, advanced recycling technologies, bio-based materials and bioeconomy solutions for the textile sector. The programme also featured discussion sessions, networking activities, technical visits and the presentation of the Bioeconomy Innovation Strategy for the European Fibres, Textiles and Apparel Industry, developed by Textile ETP.
Participation in ECOSYSTEX 2026 enabled CTA to strengthen its international network and explore new collaboration opportunities with organisations from different countries. Such events help identify synergies, build strong consortia and prepare future European proposals aimed at accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable, resilient and competitive textile industry.
Throughout the conference, CTA made the most of the networking and knowledge-exchange activities to connect with leading organisations working in areas such as circularity, recycling, bio-based materials and the sustainable transformation of textile value chains. Participation in initiatives of this kind helps expand international cooperation opportunities and supports the development of new European innovation projects aligned with the European Union’s strategic priorities.
Through its participation in ECOSYSTEX 2026, CTA reaffirms its commitment to promoting collaborative innovation and knowledge transfer, supporting the development of solutions that contribute to a more circular, sustainable and competitive European textile industry.
