CTA has participated today in the founding event of the first Circular Bioeconomy Cluster in the agri-food value chain. The andalusian Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, presided over the founding assembly of the Andalusian Circular Bioeconomy Cluster in the agri-food value chain this Tuesday, a “pioneering” project promoted by the Government of Andalusia (Junta de Andalucía) to foster collaboration, innovation, and sustainability in the agri-food sector from a circular perspective.

The Director of Consulting and International Projects at CTA, David Páez, and innovation consultant María García, participated today in the constituent assembly of the new cluster.
During the event, held at the headquarters of the Consejería, the regional minister emphasized that this cluster “is not a point of arrival, but a starting point,” and highlighted that “it is a useful, dynamic, and unifying structure that will allow us to connect business, science, and administration to jointly address the challenges of the future.”

The new non-profit association, chaired by Grupo La Caña, is made up of fourteen key entities from the sector: leading companies, research centers, universities, and representatives of public administration. Among them are Grupo La Caña, Fundación Cajamar, Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía, Fertiberia, COVAP, Dcoop, Oleícola El Tejar, Trichodex, Servicios Ambientales Las Chozas, and Cobiogás Jaén, as well as the Departments of Agriculture and Sustainability and Environment.

Action Plan for the Circular Bioeconomy
The cluster is the first measure of the Action Plan for the Circular Bioeconomy in the agri-food value chain 2025–2030, approved by the Board as part of its commitment to a more efficient, innovative, and environmentally friendly production model. Andalusia thus becomes one of the first European regions to have a structure of these characteristics specifically focused on the agri-food value chain.
