CTA has joined FATE (Food & Agri Tech Europe), the first European business association dedicated exclusively to promoting the agrifoodtech sector. Established in 2024, FATE brings together startups, companies, organisations and professionals from across Europe with the aim of fostering innovation, collaboration and sustainable growth in this emerging industry. The association, based in the agri-food city of Navarra, currently has 70 members and 15 collaborating entities.
FATE works to value and promote the adoption of transformative and emerging technologies for the agri-food sector, including biotechnology, alternative proteins and precision fermentation, areas in which CTA actively participates or collaborates with other national and European entities.
CTA’s Agrifood Sector Technical Officer, Nathalie Chavrier, attended the FATE assembly held on 14 May at the Food 4 Future international fair in Bilbao, to present the foundation’s capabilities and to learn about FATE’s roadmap for the coming years.

Digitalisation and agri-food sustainability
The incorporation of CTA to FATE responds to its commitment to promote agrifoodtech projects and initiatives in Andalusia, promoting public-private collaboration. In addition to financing its own R&D&I projects, CTA participates as a partner in multiple European initiatives, such as Andalucía Agrotech EDIH, ICT-AGRI-FOOD, ZeroW or ZEST, all of them aimed at boosting the digitalisation and sustainability of the agri-food system.
In addition, among the members of FATE, the presence of Aurora Intelligent Nutrition, a CTA member company specialising in the development of functional food products and food supplements, stands out.
By joining this association, CTA reinforces its internationalisation strategy and its role as a key entity in technology transfer.
