María García and Nathalie Chavrier, European Projects Coordinator and Senior European Projects Manager at CTA respectively, attended the second edition of the CBE JU Stakeholder Forum to learn about the latest developments and innovations supporting the transition towards sustainable and circular industries, as well as to explore collaboration opportunities with key stakeholders across the European circular bioeconomy ecosystem.
The forum, which took place in Brussels on 24 March, brought together nearly 400 participants from 40 countries, including representatives from European projects, industry, research and technology organisations, public authorities and funding bodies.

Throughout the event, participants highlighted Europe’s strong innovation capacity, specialised expertise and entrepreneurial dynamism in advancing more sustainable and competitive production models.
Speakers highlighted three key factors to advance bio-based innovation in European industry:
- Effective regulation: well-designed regulatory frameworks can support the creation of new sustainable markets and generate competitive advantages.
- Scale-up funding: stronger financial instruments are needed to help bring innovative technologies to market.
- Collaboration among stakeholders: cross-sector partnerships facilitate knowledge exchange and accelerate the uptake of technological solutions.
