The Matriz Forum 2025, organised by the Jaén Provincial Council and the Geolit Science and Technology Park in collaboration with CTA (Technological Corporation of Andalusia), has brought together around 50 representatives from industrial and service companies across the province at Geolit’s headquarters in Mengíbar (Jaén). The event featured leading companies Moeve, Innovasur, Novaindef and Gestamp, with the shared goal of fostering open and collaborative innovation.
Lourdes Martínez Gómez, Deputy for European Funds and GEOLIT at the Jaén Provincial Council, emphasised that “the province has significant capabilities that must be connected.” She highlighted that the main goal of the Matriz Forum is “to share real-world experiences, exchange knowledge, and explore new opportunities for technological cooperation, with the aim of strengthening an open innovation ecosystem in Jaén and positioning the industrial sector as a driver of sustainable economic development.”

The event, moderated by CTA’s Technical Director, Fabián Varas, aimed to connect companies, knowledge-generating centres, and public-private entities, identifying opportunities for collaborative innovation to advance industrial leadership in the province of Jaén.
The Director of the Geolit Science and Technology Park, Blas Alabarce, opened the event, where representatives from major industrial groups such as Moeve, Innovasur, Novaindef and Gestamp presented their innovation activities and major technological challenges. Alabarce stated that the Matriz Forum 2025 “will focus on how cooperation between companies, knowledge-generating centres and public-private entities can accelerate innovation processes, reduce costs and risks, and enhance the competitiveness of the industrial sector.”
The Director of Pons IP in Andalusia outlined the protection of intellectual and industrial property in collaborative innovation processes. Meanwhile, knowledge-generating centres Cetemet, Andaltec and the University of Jaén (UJA) shared their experiences in collaborative innovation during a panel discussion moderated by CTA’s Director of Consultancy and International Projects, David Páez.
In addition, attending companies had the opportunity to hold bilateral meetings with Moeve, Innovasur, Novaindef and Gestamp to identify potential opportunities for collaborative innovation.
The conclusions of the event will serve as the foundation for a future open innovation platform led by the Jaén Provincial Council and the Geolit Science and Technology Park, with the support and guidance of CTA. This platform aims to foster collaborative innovation across the province and enhance competitiveness and industrial leadership opportunities.
