The report on CTA’s Contribution to the Andalusian R&D&I Ecosystem and Its Impact on the Regional Economy, prepared by PwC and published in 2022, shows that “CTA is an essential instrument for the Andalusian innovation ecosystem, playing a highly significant structuring and support role for the different stakeholders, with a strong capacity to mobilise large-scale innovative projects.”

The report indicates that CTA member companies account for 3.6% of Spain’s national GDP and 1.5% of total employment (nearly 300,000 jobs), while in Andalusia (considering only member companies headquartered in the region) they represent 1.8% of regional GDP and 1.5% of employment. In addition, companies in the CTA cluster almost triple the average labour productivity in Spain.

According to the report, the new products and services developed through CTA-funded projects contributed €1.5 billion to GDP between 2006 and 2021, as well as 31,000 jobs over the same period. Moreover, CTA’s impact is concentrated in sectors with higher productivity and wage levels, helping to strengthen a more robust productive fabric in Andalusia.
