Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA) attended the International Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy (IFIB), held in Turin on 25 and 26 September. Innovation consultant María García represented the foundation at this year’s event.
The meeting, organised by Confindustria Piemonte together with SPRING Circular Bioeconomy Cluster and Innovhub SSI, focused on circular bioeconomy solutions, such as biofuels and bioplastics, and included bilateral meetings (B2B) to promote cooperation and joint projects.
In addition, the European BioINSouth project, funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) and of which the CTA is a partner, was once again present at IFIB. Back in 2024, CTA organised a side event as part of the Bioeconomy Marketplace at this forum, where it presented the objectives, concept and expected impact of BioINSouth at regional level in the European Union.
European Bioeconomy Clusters Alliance

At the same time, CTA participated in the General Assembly of the European Bioeconomy Clusters Alliance (EBCA), of which it is a founding member, held as a satellite event of the IFIB. The alliance, created in 2025, brings together 14 clusters from 11 European countries with the aim of promoting a circular and sustainable bioeconomy.
The EBCA reinforces the importance of European clusters as key players in the transition towards a more circular future and has contributed the expertise of its members to the current review of the European Bioeconomy Strategy.
