CTA is promoting the dissemination of the AGERAR PLUS results at the iENER’26 international conference
  • The European AGERAR PLUS project has presented its key achievements at the 7th International Congress on Energy Engineering (iENER’26), one of the leading forums for discussion on energy transition, energy storage and smart grids, held in Málaga.
  • Participation in this event has enabled the project to share its results with researchers, companies, public administrations and other key players in the energy sector, boosting its visibility and contributing to the exchange of knowledge at an international level.

The European AGERAR PLUS project, in which CTA is participating, was represented at the 7th International Congress on Energy Engineering (iENER’26), held on 10 and 11 June in Málaga. This leading event brought together professionals, researchers, companies, public authorities and experts to address the main challenges and opportunities associated with the energy transition and the technologies that will shape the future of the sector.

AGERAR PLUS’s participation in the congress forms part of the project’s planned dissemination and knowledge transfer activities, with the aim of bringing its results to the scientific community, the business sector and other relevant stakeholders in the European energy ecosystem.

AGERAR PLUS presents its findings on energy storage and energy communities

As part of the thematic session on “Flexibility Mechanisms and the Market”, held on 10 June, the project coordinator, Ascensión Zafra, from the University of Seville, gave a presentation entitled “Integrating prosumers into smart grids through energy storage, flexible demand and digital tools: results of the AGERAR PLUS project”.

During her presentation, she outlined the main advances achieved by the consortium in developing innovative solutions to facilitate the integration of small and medium-sized prosumers into smart grids. The presentation focused on the role of energy storage systems, demand flexibility mechanisms and digital tools as key elements in driving more efficient, resilient and participatory energy communities.

The project’s contributions to the development of new energy management models capable of facilitating greater public participation in the energy transition were also highlighted, promoting a more sustainable and optimised use of available energy resources.

A space for knowledge-sharing and collaboration

Participation in iENER’26 provided an excellent opportunity to share experiences with other projects, research centres, companies and public authorities working in the field of sustainable energy and smart grids.

CTA supported the organisation of the project’s participation in the conference and attended the event to bolster AGERAR PLUS’s dissemination and visibility activities, helping to strengthen the project’s presence at one of the energy sector’s leading specialist gatherings.

Over the two days, the conference hosted keynote speeches, technical sessions and discussion forums that fostered the exchange of knowledge and the creation of new opportunities for collaboration among the various stakeholders in the energy ecosystem.

About AGERAR PLUS

AGERAR PLUS builds on the AGERAR and AGERAR II projects and aims to establish a common scientific and technological framework between Spain and Portugal for the development and validation of advanced energy solutions. The project promotes the integration of innovative technologies for energy storage, demand flexibility and digitalisation, contributing to the development of resilient energy communities and the empowerment of small and medium-sized prosumers in the Spanish-Portuguese cross-border region.
