The Doñana Terra Innova project held a Doñana Circular Agro Working Group in Bollullos Par del Condado (Huelva), focused on the analysis of agronomic practices in woody crops and the forestry sector. Around thirty participants attended the session, including farmers, cooperatives, companies, technical experts and regional stakeholders.

Representatives from the wine, olive-growing and forestry industries, as well as input suppliers, engineering firms and industry associations, took part in the discussion. Their contributions led to the identification of several R&D&I priorities to be proposed to the CDTI for future funding calls, including environmentally friendly fertilizers, advanced biological pest control, high-value waste valorisation, genetic improvement and protection of local grapevine varieties, and cost-effective solutions for water regeneration and reuse.

Needs and Opportunities for Improvement

The meeting focused on identifying the current needs of woody crops—such as vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees—as well as the forestry sector. Participants analysed current agronomic practices to identify opportunities for improvement and promote innovative projects that contribute to the sustainability and competitiveness of the region.

The session was opened by Luis Bermúdez, Manager of Onucoop, while Belinda Lagares and Pedro Díaz, collaborators of the Doñana Terra Innova project, moderated the working group.

The Doñana Terra Innova project is led by CTA, with the participation of Asaja-Huelva, the Federation of Businesses of Huelva (FOE), the University of Huelva, Onucoop and Seprocoop. The project is funded by the CDTI and supported by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, under the Industry line of the Action Framework for Doñana in its socio-economic dimension, promoted by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
