STRONGBIONET was launched as part of the European Bioeconomy Strategy (EU Bioeconomy Strategy) with the aim of strengthening the sector through better coordination of existing initiatives and stronger connections among key stakeholders. Conceived as a true network of networks, the project will foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and co-creation to accelerate the development and uptake of innovative solutions across Europe.
To achieve this, it will develop a Europe-wide multilingual platform that will serve as a hub for networking, training, knowledge exchange, investment readiness and dialogue between the scientific community, policymakers and regulators.
One of the pillars of STRONGBIONET will be the creation of four thematic Communities of Practice, bringing together researchers, educators, businesses, SMEs, farmers, investors, policymakers and representatives of civil society, including underrepresented groups.
Through these communities, the project aims to engage around 3,500 participants and deliver tangible results that help accelerate the transition towards a stronger, more connected and sustainable bioeconomy. Furthermore, efforts will be made to ensure the long-term sustainability of the project’s impacts through governance mechanisms, institutional integration and long-term exploitation.
