BIO4AFRICA meets in Senegal to continue supporting the deployment of the bioeconomy in rural Africa

The sixth meeting of the European project Bio4AFRICA, of which CTA is a part, was held in a hybrid format (24 participants in person and 41 participants online) on May 22, 23, and 24, 2024, in Ziguinchor, Senegal.

The main objectives of the meeting were the presentation and discussion among all partners on the various technical, administrative, and financial aspects of the project and its work plan, as well as the discussion on possible risks of delays or deviations in the implementation of the project’s activities. Additionally, this meeting served to carefully plan the work scheduled for the seventh semester of the project.

The first day of the meeting began with an overview of the project’s overall progress presented by the Centre for International Cooperation in Agronomic Research for Development (CIRAD), the project coordinator.

The second day of the meeting concluded with discussions on evaluating progress towards the indicators and preparing a detailed list of actions with the contribution and agreement of the Bio4AFRICA partners, focusing on pilot activities at the pilot site in Ghana, validation activities at all pilot sites, the upcoming end of the second reporting period, and the organization of the project’s final conference.
