Andalucía TRADE and CTA Bring CABEI and Multilateral Market Opportunities Closer to Andalusian Companies
  • An eight-member delegation from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and public institutions from Honduras, Panama and Guatemala visited Andalusia to explore the capabilities of local companies and identify opportunities to participate in multilateral-funded projects across Latin America.
  • In addition to a business meeting and working session attended by more than 40 participants, the CABEI delegation visited the facilities of AGQ Labs, Emasesa, Inerco, Azvi, Bioazul, Sando, Aksur, Vodafone Innovation Hub and Málaga TechPark.

CTA (Technological Corporation of Andalusia) and the Andalusian Agency for Economic Transformation and Development (Andalucía TRADE) have organised a mission of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) to Seville and Málaga from 21 to 24 September to bring the multilateral market closer to Andalusian companies and showcase their capabilities to various public institutions across Latin America.

CTA President Beltrán Pérez explained that “the multilateral market offers innovative companies an effective pathway to internationalise their technologies and gain valuable references in emerging markets”, while noting that it is “a complex and highly competitive environment that requires strategy, partnerships and careful preparation.” He therefore highlighted “the importance of direct meetings with multilateral financing institutions such as CABEI, as well as representatives of Latin American governments and public bodies, to better understand the opportunities available. Equally important is the guidance provided by organisations such as TRADE and CTA to help companies identify opportunities, build partnerships and successfully navigate the complexities of the multilateral market.”

The Director of Business Development at Andalucía TRADE, Juan Cruzado, stressed the need for Andalusian companies to strengthen their presence in the multilateral procurement sector, in which Central America represents a strategic market. In this regard, he highlighted “the strategic collaboration we maintain with CTA in Andalusia and with organisations such as CABEI in Latin America to support one of the key pillars of Andalucía TRADE’s internationalisation strategy for Andalusian companies. Twenty-two Andalusian companies are currently registered in our Multilateral Club. Our goal is to bring business opportunities closer to our companies in a market that generates more than USD 200 billion annually through international tenders worldwide.”

More than 40 representatives from Andalusian companies attended the CABEI Seville-Málaga Business Meeting 2026, which began with a working session in Seville on 22 September. The event was opened by Juan Cruzado, Director of Business Development at Andalucía TRADE; Beltrán Pérez, President of CTA; and Mauricio Chacón, CABEI Country Manager in Panama. It was closed by Álvaro Chapa, Head of Unit at Spain’s Secretariat of State for Trade, who presented the Fund for the Internationalisation of Enterprise (FIEM).

The event featured a series of presentations on business opportunities and priority projects in Latin America delivered by members of the CABEI delegation. The delegation included eight representatives from CABEI and public institutions from Honduras, Panama and Guatemala. In addition, dozens of B2B meetings were held between Andalusian companies and delegation members to explore collaboration opportunities in future projects.

Furthermore, between 23 and 24 September, CTA and TRADE organised a programme of meetings and site visits for the CABEI delegation to the facilities of AGQ Labs, Emasesa, Inerco, Azvi, Bioazul, Sando, Aksur, Vodafone Innovation Hub and Málaga TechPark. These visits focused on the priority areas of interest identified by the Latin American countries: Water and Sanitation, Agribusiness, Health, Sustainable Mobility, Environment and Energy Transition.
