The European finMED project aims to boost the financing of innovation in sectors linked to ‘green growth, i.e. sustainable or environmentally friendly, in the Mediterranean region.

The project has a budget of €4.3 million, 85% of which is financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the European Union (EU) Interreg-Med transnational cooperation program (€3.65 million), and has a duration of 4 years. It is led by Regione Piemonte and will be developed by a consortium composed of a total of 15 partners from 9 European countries (Italy, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Portugal, Cyprus, Slovenia, France, Malta and Spain).

The finMED project expects to achieve concrete results in three areas:

  • Proposal of public policies, developing and adopting new concepts, principles and practices to finance green growth strategies;
  • Boost innovation in the business environment, improving interaction and collaboration (at regional and transnational level) among the stakeholders involved and bridging the gap between companies and funders;
  • Stimulate the capacities of green (environmentally sustainable) sectors, actively promoting and supporting their adaptation to new financing challenges.
CTA activity

CTA will actively collaborate in the analysis of existing instruments, in the identification of success stories and in the proposal of innovative initiatives. Its main activity will be the establishment of effective collaboration networks between the main actors in green sectors (industry, universities, research centers) and the main financing agents (public administrations, investors, etc.).
