The BBioNets project is seeking organisations in the olive sector for its mentoring programme
  • The mentoring programme will consist of two online sessions aimed at identifying needs and providing expert support on the use of bio-based technologies.
  • This initiative is aimed at olive growers and farm managers, cooperatives and oil mills, technical experts in the olive sector, and other stakeholders interested in the circular bioeconomy.

Through its European BBioNets project, an initiative funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, CTA has launched an initiative aimed at identifying the needs of the olive sector and providing support to promote the adoption of bio-based technologies (BBTs).

This initiative is aimed at olive growers and farm managers, cooperatives and oil mills, technical experts in the olive sector and other stakeholders interested in the circular bioeconomy, creating a workspace designed for those who wish to innovate and tackle the sector’s challenges.

The aim of this initiative is to identify the key challenges facing professionals in the sector and to provide a practical forum for exchange with experts. The proposal combines assessment, advice and the exploration of collaborative opportunities, including the possible creation of Operational Groups within the framework of MAPA.

Planned topics

The sessions will focus primarily on MAPA’s Task Forces and the revaluation of olive grove waste. These topics will enable attendees to explore opportunities for innovation, models for utilising by-products, and avenues for collaboration to promote circular bioeconomy projects.

Session dates

The event will take place over two online sessions:

  • Session 1: Needs assessment – Week of 18 May (date to be confirmed)
  • Session 2: Mentoring with experts – First half of June

Both sessions are designed to be dynamic, interactive and focused on providing practical solutions to real challenges facing the olive sector.
