CTA (Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía) held an event at its new office in Granada to analyse the city’s role as a “strategic hub for innovation and knowledge transfer,” with the participation of the Mayor of the city, Marifrán Carazo, and the Rector of the University of Granada, Pedro Mercado.
The Mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, stated that “having Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía in Granada strengthens the city as an innovation hub in Southern Europe, with a leading university, a growing business ecosystem, and a strong commitment to applying Artificial Intelligence in public services.” She added that “projects such as iQuantum reflect this city model we are promoting, where technology is placed at the service of citizens,” and emphasised that “this incorporation opens up new opportunities for collaboration, investment, and development for our companies, helping ensure that the knowledge generated in the city translates into skilled employment and progress for the people of Granada.”
For his part, the Rector of the University of Granada, Pedro Mercado, highlighted the University’s commitment “to all initiatives that contribute to knowledge, innovation, and territorial development.” “Public-private collaboration connects companies, administrations, universities, and social actors to attract investment, generate quality jobs, and above all, to foster talent and internationalisation,” added Pedro Mercado.
The President of CTA, Beltrán Pérez, thanked the city for its warm welcome and stated that CTA’s new headquarters in Granada is “a milestone that reinforces CTA’s commitment to the Andalusian territory and, in particular, to a province that is a benchmark in knowledge, science, talent, and innovation.” “We aim to facilitate collaboration, drive joint projects, and generate opportunities that translate into economic growth and territorial development,” Pérez noted, encouraging Granada-based innovative companies and organisations to approach CTA to request support, services, and advisory.
CTA’s new office in Granada joins those already located in the Seville and Málaga Tech Parks. It is based at the University of Granada’s Technology Transfer Centre, at Gran Vía de Colón 48, in the city centre. With this new presence, CTA continues strengthening its role as a driving force for business innovation in Andalusia, connecting knowledge, funding, and collaboration to boost projects with real impact in the region.

CTA’s innovation consultant based in Granada, Mayra Granados, moderated the expert panel on real collaboration and growth experiences, which included representatives from Rovi, Grupo La Caña, Educa EdTech Group, Debos, and the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Knowledge Transfer of the University of Granada.
The discussion addressed key issues such as the role of university–industry collaboration, the factors driving business innovation, the results achieved in terms of funding and market positioning, and recommendations for companies interested in launching innovative projects. In addition, a networking session was held to foster exchange between companies, institutions, and actors within the Andalusian innovation ecosystem, promoting new projects that may emerge from Granada.
