CTA organises an event on aerospace tech and renewable energy that gathers 160 attendees from 15 countries

The online event ‘Robotic & Aeronautic Technology for solar and wind O&M’, framed in the DURABLE European project, has already more than 160 registrations, from 15 countries. This meeting has been organised by Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA) in collaboration with CESEAND, the Andalusian node of the Enterprise Europe Network of Support Centres for SMEs in matters of internationalisation and R&D and innovation, led by the Regional Ministry of Economy, Knowledge, Enterprises and University through the IDEA Agency.

The event has already held its first two sessions in Spanish and English on April 2nd and 8th, respectively. The third session, which will take place on April 22nd, will have the same content, but will be taught in French to facilitate access to SMEs in the European Atlantic regions.

The online event is divided into two main actions. The first one is a webinar, which offers an overview of the technologies applicable in the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of renewable solar and wind energy. The increase in productivity that these technologies could contribute to the sector is also analysed. The second action is B2B meetings (more than 60 have been closed so far), which will allow participants, companies in the O&M sector or other interested players to expose their specific needs.

The participating research centres and universities are ALERION, ESTIA, Dublin City University, Lortek, University of Seville, FADA-CATEC, UWE Bristol and the Instituto Superior Técnico de Portugal.

About DURABLE

The aim of DURABLE is to accelerate the deployment of renewable energies through the validation and demonstration of aerospace technologies applied in robotics for operation and maintenance activities in wind and solar energy systems. The application of this technology will automate inspection and repair tasks, reducing costs and favoring green energy production.

The project has a budget of €3,9 million and is funded by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme through the European Regional Development Fund.

This project is led by the Ecole Supérieure des Technologies Industrielles Avancées and 12 partners from 5 European countries participate.

Under the acronym DURABLE, the full name of the project is ‘Maintenance drones and robots to enhance renewable energy systems in the Atlantic Area’.
