The Doñana Terra Innova project, led by CTA and funded by CDTI, has held a workshop at the Center for Research in Technology, Energy and Sustainability (CITES) of the University of Huelva (UHU) to gather innovative proposals from organizations operating in the natural park’s surrounding area.
The Mayor of Moguer, Gustavo Cuéllar, opened the event together with María Reyes Sánchez, Vice-Rector for Knowledge Transfer and Regional Development at the University of Huelva (UHU); José Manuel Andújar, Director of CITES; Luis Bermúdez, Manager of Onucoop; and Daniel Caldentey, Secretary General of the Federation of Employers of Huelva (FOE).

Emilio Esteban, Head of the Doñana Technical Office at Spain’s Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITERD), outlined the framework of actions for sustainable development in the Doñana Natural Area and Biosphere Reserve. Meanwhile, Carlos García, CTA’s Head of Public Sector, provided a more detailed overview of the Doñana Terra Innova project and the support measures planned for innovative projects.
The event brought together nearly 30 participants and included dozens of one-to-one meetings with advisors from the Doñana Terra Innova project, aimed at helping local organizations define and refine their ideas, advance their development, and access funding opportunities.
The Doñana Terra Innova project, funded by CDTI and supported by Spain’s Ministries for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and for Science, Innovation and Universities, aims to promote innovative technology projects throughout 2026 and 2027 that contribute to sustainable development across the 14 municipalities surrounding the Doñana Natural Area and Biosphere Reserve.
Doñana Terra Innova aims to establish itself as a key instrument for transforming the area surrounding the natural park into a benchmark for sustainable socio-economic development and innovation, while protecting and harnessing its natural and territorial resources.
The initiative is led by CTA and brings together Asaja-Huelva, the Federation of Entrepreneurs of Huelva (FOE), the University of Huelva, and the cooperatives Onucoop and Seprocoop as project partners.
